Lunch Break

This painting is from a photo I took while still living in Southern California.  This adorable dog was sitting with his owner waiting very patiently for it to be time to go.  Neither of my dogs would ever be this well behaved in public!

Two Cows

Now this is not my first time attempting cows, but it is the first one I'm pleased with (at least for now).  I took this picture in Nebraska last summer, when the cows were all hanging out in the water.  Most of them didn't care about us at all, but the one in back was at least a little curious.

The Jump Off

This is another painting based on the photographs I took at the horse show in Southern California.  I especially love painting these scenes because they are so dynamic.  And of course, it's so much fun to paint the bright reds of the jumps!

Just Passing By

This cow is one of many I photographed on the Nebraska farm.  This big guy seemed indifferent to us as we drove past, not running like most of the others.  This was my first time painting a cow, and I was surprised at how different they are from horses, both in body shape and in attitude.

The Memorial Day Classic

A few years ago I spent some afternoons photographing various horse shows in Southern California.  As a rider, I spent many years competing in these shows, and I can't say that I didn't wish it were me riding this hunter.

Three's A Crowd

Last summer we took a trip to Nebraska to visit family that lives on a cattle farm.  The cows were amazing and beautiful, but the chickens were very entertaining!
